What is DU LLB Entrance Exam?

National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts DU LLB Entrance Exam for admissions to three-year LLB courses offered at Campus Law Centre, Law Centre-I and Law Centre-II of Delhi University. The exam is conducted at the national level at more than 18 test cities (listed below). Through the entrance exam, more than 2900 LLB seats are offered at the law centres of Delhi University.

DU LLB Entrance Exam 2021 Eligibility Criteria

For admissions to Faculty of Law, Delhi University, candidates should meet the academic qualification and minimum marks requirements as per their categories are given below:

  • General Category : Candidates holding a graduation/ post-graduation degree from Delhi University or any other recognized Indian/foreign university with at least 50% aggregate marks.
  • OBC Category : Candidates passing graduation/ post-graduation from a recognised university with at least 45% aggregate marks.
  • SC/ST Category : Candidates passing graduation/post-graduation from a recognised university with at least 40% aggregate marks.
  • CW Category : Candidates who come under widows/ wards of ex-servicemen/serving personnel (CW) category are given a 5% marks relaxation, which means they must have obtained at least 45% aggregate marks in their qualifying degree.
  • PH Category : Candidates holding a graduation/ post-graduation degree from a recognised institute or university and minimum marks secured should be at least 45% marks in aggregate.

DU LL.B. Syllabus for 3 year Law Courses

  1. Maximum Marks - 400
  2. Duration of CLAT 2021 Exam - 02:00 Hours
  3. Multiple-Choice Questions - 100 questions of one mark each
  4. Negative Marking - 1 Mark for each wrong answer

The LL.B. Entrance Test will be held ONLINE (unless declared otherwise by the University) at various Centres to be notified later. The Test Paper will consist of one question paper containing 100 objective-type questions with multiple choice answers relating to:

  1. English Language Comprehension - 20-25 Questions
  2. Analytical Abilities and Mathematics - 20-25 Questions
  3. Legal Awareness & Aptitude - 30-35 Questions
  4. General Knowledge and Current Affairs - 25-30 Questions

The section wise syllabus of DU LLB 2021 is as follows:

DU LLB Syllabus for English

This section tests a candidate’s proficiency in English. The section usually has three major components viz.

  • Vocabulary – it will majorly cover synonyms, antonyms, and analogies.
  • Grammar – you will have to correct the grammatical errors in questions, fill in the blanks with appropriate words, etc.
  • Comprehension – will test the understanding of passage including its central theme and word meanings.

DU LLB Syllabus for General Knowledge

This section is considered as make it or break it a section of the law entrance exam. The section that tests a candidate's level of awareness within the country and worldwide.

There will be static GK questions as well. Static GK signifies facts about the places, people and things that will remain the same in the future as well.

Questions are asked from the recent topics and current affairs broadly featuring between March of the year and April of the year.

DU LLB Syllabus for Analytical Abilities

This section is devised to evaluate a candidate’s ability to analytically comprehend different aspects of a situation or scenario and logically derive solutions. No visual questions are asked in the section. It covers a variety of logical aptitude questions including syllogism, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

DU LLB Syllabus for Legal Awareness and Aptitude

It is considered to be the most interesting area of study among the law aspirants. This section primarily focuses on the legal aptitude of candidates.

The questions are framed as legal propositions having a set of facts that satisfy the propositions.

One has to analyze a suitable proposition and answer questions based on the given set of facts
